This role is based at the Atlantic City Airport, about 20 miles from Atlantic City, NJ. Ideal candidates should consider temporary relocation near the airport, with relocation assistance negotiable.

Your New Role: Electrical Design Engineer
Based out of Atlantic City Airport, NJ, at the William J. Hughes Technical Center, you’ll take the lead on federal electrical design projects from concept to execution. Whether it’s designing new power feeds or ensuring compliance with federal codes, your work will shape the backbone of secure, high-performance infrastructure. You'll also be working on critical systems and technologies, including lightning and surge protection systems, lighting systems, electrical panels, arc flash hazards analysis, substations, switchgear, branch circuits, feeders, and transformers—making this a role rich with technical depth and real-world impact.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Develop SOWs, cost estimates, and technical documentation
- Design and review high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems
- Create detailed construction plans, specs, and engineering calculations
- Perform technical evaluations of contractor proposals and designs
- Support field construction with inspections, submittal reviews, and meetings
- Ensure electrical system safety, risk mitigation, and code compliance
- Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and public agencies
- Conduct on-site assessments, preventive maintenance inspections, and reporting
- Stay current on FAA directives, NEC codes, and engineering innovations

Job requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5+ Years of Experience in Electrical Engineering
- Low Voltage Power Design experience
- FAA Suitability/Public Trust Clearance Eligibility
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Willingness to Commute to Atlantic City Airport, with negotiable relocation assistance for temporary relocation needs (Partial telework option is available.)
